GIANT CORPORATION LINDBERGII’S PROPOSITION ROME Oct. 2. The famous American airman Colonel Charles Lindbergh is believed to be attempting to form a giant international commercial aviation corporation, to be managed under the supervision of the League of Nations. This is the conviction firmly and widely held by responsible Italian figures in aviation. Thev suggest that it is the reason for Colonel Lindberg’s much-criticised visits to the countries of Europe. He is due at Rome soon to inspect a number of now aircraft factories. The flyer is said to have the backing of powerful financial interests m Britain and the United States. According to Italian statements. Colonel Lindbergh’s nlan inyolves the formation of an international air transport company through a merger of existing British. French, German and Italian aviation companies.

The purchase of minor European aviation concerns is another element in the scheme.
