BEEF VALUES DOWN PECLINE UP TO 30/EWE PRICES ADVANCK WES.TFIELD MARKET (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Consequent upon the recent high prices, the beef yarding was oversupplied at Westfield yesterday and prices dropped sharply by about 30s a head and 3s per 1001 b. The entry comprised a greater proportion of ox beef which showed the greatest reduction in value. Extra choice ox beef sold at 40s per 1001 b., choice and prime, 34s to 395; unfinished, 30s to 365; prime cow and heifer beef, 32s to 38s, and secondary and unfinished, 25s to 31s. Extra heavy prime steers madt from £l6 to £18; heavy, £14.t0 £lb 17s 6d; medium, £l2 10s to £l4 7s (id; light, £lO to £l2 7s 6d; unfinished, £8 7s 6d to. £lO 7s 6d; extra heavy prime cows and heifers, £lO to £ll 17s (id; heavy, £8 10s to £9 17s Cd; medium, £7 to £8 12s 6d; light, £5 10s to £l 17s 6d; unfinished, £3 10s to £5 10s. Sheep were offered in average numbers, the quality being sound throughout. Wethers were slightly easier in value and .ewes were considerablydearer. Heavy woolly wethers realised from 28s 6d to 31s 6d; medium, 26s 6d to 295; light, 25s to 275; unfinislied, 20s to 24s 9d; heavy shorn wethers, 25s to 27s 3d; medium, 22s 6d to 24s 9d: light, 21s to 22s 8d; unfinished, 17s to 20s: extra heavy woolly ewes. 24s to 265; heavy, 22s to 24s 6d; medium, 20s to 21s 9d; light, 16s to 19s; unfinished, 13s to 15s, heavy shorn ewes, 18s 6d to 13s 9d; medium, 17s to 18s; light, 15s to 17s 3d; unfinished, Is to 13s.

A moderate entry of hoggets maintained firm rates at from 8s to 275. A limited selection of spring lambs sola keenly at from 24s 9cl to 34s 9d. A full yarding of calves sold undei a steady demand, firm values being obtained for aii good quality stock, other classes being easier. Runners maca from £5 to £8; heavy vealers, £6 2s to £7 13s; medium, £5 to £6 6s; light, £3 19s to £4 18s; small, £2 10s to £3 18s; smaller, £1 5.s to £2 ss'; unnmsu ed, 15s to £1 10s; bobby and rough, 4s to 18s.
