BENES AS CANDIDATE

GLASGOW UNIVERSITY RECTORIAL ELECTION (Reed. Oct. 12. noon) LONDON, Oct. 11. The ex-President of Czechoslovakia, Dr. E. Benes, has agreed to stand as a Scottish Nationalist candidate in the Glasgow University rectorial election. Dr. Benes consented to nomination as representing the principle of the right of the small democratic nations to order their own affairs. The election is to be held on October 22. Other candidates are: Sir Archibald Sinclair (.Liberal), Mr. Laurence Housman (Pacifist), and Sir Henry Lunn (Distributist.)
