By way of friendly assistance to those who find difficulty in framing congratulatory or greetings telegrams in an original way, the Post Office has designed a new issue of forms for this class of business with a number of sample messages reproduced on the back. Though senders may use their own phraseology, they are being offered half a dozen ideas for birthdays and anniversaries, including the time-honoured "Many happy returns of the day," and official assistance is given also in respect of weddings, and some original ways of telegraphing the usual "bon voyage." The new design for both forwarded and received greetings telegrams in a distinctive envelope includes the clasped hands of friendship and the sundial, marking the passage of time.
