STATE PRECAUTIONS
Since the Hawke's Bay earthquake in. February, 1931, a number of Stateowned and other buildings in Wellington have been strengthened and some tons of heavy ornamental work have been removed from them to make them safer. A State building in which work of this kind recently has been completed is the Customs building.
