Tokomaru Bay.—Aug. 4: Sailed, Margaret W., at 11 a.m., and Pukeko, at 9.15 a.m., for Gisborne. Sydney, Aug. 4. —Arrived: At 8.30 a.m.. Awatea, from Auckland. Avr rived at Newcastle: Swartenhondt, from Auckland. ‘ The department has brought this case as a warning; it does not ask tor a penalty on this occasion as it does not appear to be generally known that a warrant of fitness is required for a motor trailer,” said Mr. J. H.' R. Semple, traffic inspector, in a case heard in the Magistrates’ Court, in Palmerston North. The defendant was ordered to pay 10s costs on a charge of not possessing a warrant of fitness for a trailer.
