DELAYS TO SHIPPING
GALES OFF N.Z. COAST VESSELS FOR AUCKLAND (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. South-easterly gales off the New Zealand coast have seriously affected the arrivals of ships at Auckland from overseas. The Union Steam Ship Company's motor ship Limerick, from the Pacific Coast, has reported that her arrival would be delayed from to-day until Friday evening and the New Zealand Shipping Company’s motor ship Opawa, from Liverpool, has advised that she would reach port on Sunday, nearly 36 hours later than previously expected. The Colonial Sugar Company’s steamer Fiona was delayed several hours in arriving from Suva. To be prepared for her tow to Sydney by the motor ship Salamaua the Richardson Line steamer was mbved from her moorings oft Shoal Bay yesterday afternoon and brought alongside the Salamaua at Princes wharf. Work was begun in setting the navigation . lights to be used permanently on the crossing. The departure of the Salamaua has been postponed until Friday because of delays to the cargo Work.
