ARBOR DAY CEREMONIES
PLANTING AT AUCKLAND ’ (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. The two main Arbor Day ceremonies ''-'erd’v w°re the plain-ting of native -ees in the Domain by the City Council and at Old Street Stephen’s Chapel, Parnell. The deputy-Mayor, Mr. J. A. C. Allum,. at the Domain said the City Council had been -responsible for planting 2000 trees in Auckland parks .and reserves. He urged a wider development of tree-planting in the Dominion. Trees were planted in the various suburbs, mostly by school children.
