FAREWELL DANCE ALL FLACKS FOR FIJI (Humid UorruMpomltml.) A delightful dance was held in the Hauiti Hall, Tolaga Bay, on Monday evening to bid farewell to Mr. Pomare Kutia, a representative of the Hauiti football 'team, who is to tour Fiji 'with the Maori All Blacks. On 'behalf of Mr. Kutia’s many friends, Mr. VVhainga Thompson, the secretary of the Hauiti club, presented him with a cheque ami wished him luck on the tour. Speeches of counsel and of goodwill were made by Mr. G. Ilaere, Mr. T. Temple, >and Mr. Harry Amaru, the captain of the Hauiti team, concluding with the Paikea song wi'th actions, in which everyone took part. Mr. Kutia suitably expressed his thanks. The dance music was supplied by the Night Hawk’s orchestra, and extras were played by Messrs. W. Temiha, W. Henry, J. Morris, and M. Huhu. A delicious supper was served by the Hauiti ladies, under the managership of Miss Mary Thompson. Those present included Mr. and Mrs. T. Temple, Mr. and Mrs. G. Hacre, 'Mr. and Mrs. B. Noanoa, Mr. and Mrs. B. Tahata, Mr. and Mrs. D. Temple. Among the dancers were Mrs. M. Glover, wearing a becoming frock oj black and lloral Liberty silk; Mrs. T. Temple, black lace; Mrs. Kutia, sen., floral taffeta; Miss S. Davis, blue lloral shantung; 'Miss L. Ngata, pink georgette; Miss L. Noanoa, brown silk lace; Miss'll. Wharehingu, black net over taffeta; Miss E. To Wai. pink floral satin; Miss M. Kosan, maize crepe-de-Chine; Miss M. Thompson, green chiffon; Miss M. King, Marina blue silk; Miss It. Temple, apricot satin; Miss B. Henry, white crepe satin; Miss B. Kirk, laquer red windswept satin. Flag Five-hundred The weekly flag live-hundred party conducted by the entertainment committee of the Labour Party was held at Mrs. Matiazzi’s lunchon rooms, Tolaga Bay, on Tuesday ner.ing, eight tables of players being present.’ A dainty supper was provider! by the hostesses, Mesdamcs Sowry and Callaghan. A cake, donated by Miss P. Laing, was won by Miss A. L. Moore. I lie winning table was occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Morris, and Mr. and Mrs. D. Temple. Mrs. Temple also won the ladies’ points prize, and the gentlemen’s points’ prize went to Mr. A. Morris. The travelling envelope prize, donated by Mrs. 11. Higgs, was won by Mr. .J. King. Additional trophies were received by Mrs. Wilsbn and Mr. T, Pokai. The prizes were presented by Mrs, I. F. Watt, Arero. Labour Party The monthly meeting of the Tolaga Bay branch of the Labour Party was held in the Reynolds Hall on Monday. In the absence of Mr. J. P.
Guthrie, Mr. .1. R. Lincoln occupied the chair. Two new members were welcomed, and 10 new members enrolled. The McMillan report on maternity services was discussed. It was decided that a dance should be held later in the month, subject to the approval of the ladies' committee.
