FOOTBALLS FOR SCHOOLS
FULL SIZE DESIRED DISCUSSION IN WAIROA (Herald Correspondnnt.) WAIROA, this day. Speaking as the chairman of the Schools' Football Association, Mr. E. Boyes raised a point at this week's meeting of the management committee of the Wairoa Rugby Sub-Union that next year the sub-union consider procuring full size footballs for schools, instead Of the usual smaller size. "We would prefer," said Mr. Boyes, "to have fewer footballs at the standard size than our full quota of the smaller size." The secretary, Mr. C. Stone, thought that the full size balls would be too heavy for the schoolboys. Mr. Boyes pointed out that that was not the case. The boys preferred the standard size as used in senior footbail, and considered the smaller balls ja trifle babyish. They liked playing! with the same sized footballs as their I brothers played with, or, in some cases, their fathers used. "There is psychology in it, believe' me," concluded Mr. Boyes. ■ The sub-union decided to give - the matter consideration next year.
