'EERIE AND FASCINATING'
ELECTRICAL STORM
SPECTACLE FROM LINER
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day
The electrical storm at Auckland last night provided a thrilling scene for passengers on the liner Rangitata, which arrived from England this morning.
One of the women passengers said the continuous play of light on the water against the hackground of black cloud was an eerie and fascinating picture. She had seen nothing like it outside India.
"How it rained," said an officer. "I hear an inch fell in Auckland in 10 minutes. I got an inch and a-half down the back of my neck in five minutes. The voyage otherwise was uneventful."
