Speaking to-day in the House of Commons, the Prime Minister, (Mr. Neville Chamberlain, said the fact that Britain was unable to guarante a loan to China did not exclude all forms of assistance. Proposals were now being examined to assist in other way not open to the same objections. Britain would be glad to offer her services in the Far East in the cause of a cessation of hostilities whenever a favourable opportunity arose. In the meantime she would not allow British intersts to suffer.
