PROSPERITY IN BRITAIN
CONTRAST WITH EUROPE
JUDGE'S IMPRESSIONS
(Pur Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, this day
The sharp contrast in Britain, compared with Continental countries, was commented by the Hon. F. S. Boyce, K.C., a judge of the Supreme Court in New South Wales, and formerly Attorney-General of that State, on his return by the Rangitata to-day. He was in Vienna two days before the German coup. Then there was very little indication of tihe dramatic events which followed, he said. In Italy, Austria and Germany people were saving everything. It was difficult to get a piece of string. Sugar was handed out in little packages. One was glad to return to England with its freedom and prosperity. lie was impressed with the way that New Zealand products were advertised throughout Britain. In small towns he
saw pictures of fat New Zealand lambs in luxurious pastures.
Accompanied by his wife and daughter, Mr. Boyce will spend a holiday at Rotorua before returning to Australia. He has twice walked along Milford Track and agrees it is the most beautiful walk in the world.
