TOBACCO FACTORY
STATE PLANT AT MOTUEKA The State tobacco reconditioning factory at Motueka was officially opened on Monday by the Minister of Mines, the Hon. P. C. Webb. The Minister said the establishment of the factory marked a definite step in the progress of the tobacco industry, especially in regard to export, The factory was large enough to deal with a much greater quantity of export leaf than had ever been handled before. It was expected that it would this year deal with 200,0001 b. of the past season's crop.
