INDIANS' HOCKEY WIN
FEILDING OUTCLASSED TEN GOALS TO NIL. (Per l'rttss Association.) 1 FEILDING, this day. Completely outclassed in every department oi' the game, the Foilding representative hockey team went down by 10 goals to nil against the touring Indian State team at Feilding yesterday. Heavy rain had fallen all morning, making the ground soft and muddy. This fact helped to keep the score against Feilding down. Dazzling stickwork and control of the ball by the Indians had the Feilding men definitely nonplussed times without number, and only the sterling defence of the local goalie, Whiteman, prevented many more goals. The Indians rapidly adapted themselves to the muddy ground, exploiting the push shot to full advantage in passing rushes against which the orthodox methods of Feilding were fruitless. Play was fast throughout, with drizzling rain ; keeping the ground slippery. The attendance was large despite the rain.
