WAINUI SURF CLUB
GROUND IMPROVEMENT
Improvements to the grounds beside the Wainui Surf Club's clubhouse are contemplated. The club sought permission from the Gisborne Borough Council last night to drain the swampy portion of the Lysnar Reserve, Wainui, to cut the long grass and to erect a footbridge over the Okitu Creek, the work to be done by club members at no cost to the council. The installation of a cattle stop at the road entrance to the reserve also was asked for. Permission was given, and the borough engineer was instructed to investigate the whereabouts of a cattlestop that might .be used by the surf club.
