CARRYING CHARGES
BAY OF PLENTY PROPOSALS
At a meeting in Opotiki of the advisory council of the Bay of Plenty Carriers’ Associations, representatives of the Opotiki, Whakatanc, Tauranga and Rotorua Associations were present, in accordance with the request of the No. 1 Transport Licensing Authority. A scale of cartage charges applicable to the whole district was drawn up. Each association will shortly call a meeting .of farmers and other interested parties, and, if unanimity in regard to the various charges is not arrived at, the No. 1 Transport Licensing Authority will preside at a meeting, when evidence will be called and prices fixed. It was reported lo the meeting that certain persons were carrying on operations without transport licenses. II was decided to take action against all such unlicensed operators.
