SPECTACULAR FIGHT
GANZON BEATS CLARK MARGIN OF' POINTS HARD-HITTING FINALE (Pur Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Ahead on points in, at least, eight of the 12 rounds, Dominic Ganzon, the Filipino boxer, on Saturday night beat ‘•Snowy” Clark, lightweight champion of Western Australia, in as good a fight as has been seen in Christchurch for years. Both weighed 9st lib. Clark had an advantage in reach, ■but it was nullified by Ganzon’s greater speed. Every round was packed with hone3t boxing, and both were very game. Clark did very well under heavy punishment, and astonished the crowd by taking the initiative'in a last desperate attempt in the final round to win by a knockout. 'i Ganzon then showed that he could'take; punishment as well as give it and. although he twice went down before a two-handed onslaught, he successfully evaded the most dangcrour punches of his hard-hitting opponent to take a well-deserved victory.
