YOUNG FARMERS’ WEEK

VISIT TO WELLINGTON PARTY PROM GISBORNE Gisborne young farmers will be represented at the educational week to be held by the New Zealand Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs in Wellington starting on Monday. Members will assemble on Monday evening for the opening addresses. A welcome will be given on Tuesday morning by the Mayor of Wellington, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, and visits will be made to several points of interest in the city during the day and on Wednesday.

On Thursday, the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. W. Lee Martin, will welcome the visitors at Parliament House, which will be inspected by the party. Later in the morning there will be a lantern lecture on field experiments, and in the afternoon the Wallaceville veterinary laboratory will be inspected. A bus trip round the bays and a visit to the floating dock ar e scheduled for Friday, and the members will disperse on Saturday. Many entertainments are provided. Members of the Gisborne Young Farmers’ Club making the trip are: Messrs K. W. Cooper, G. W. Smith, R. Field, J. and R. Tietjen, M. D. Richardson and D. Witters. The monthly meeting of the club has been postponed for a week so that those attending the educational week will be able to prepare brief talks on their experiences for submission to that meeting.
