RIFLE SHOOTING
GISBORNE DEFENCE CLUB HANDICA P COM PETITION A handicap match was held on the Mangapapa range on Saturday afternoon by the members of the Gisborne Defence Rifle Club, some good scores being registered. The competition was at the 300yds. range, 10 shots being fired twice with a possible of 100. In the first shoot E. Sodersen had the best rifle score with 48 and in the second series F. J. Jeune scored best with 40. G Holmes secured first place in the match with a gross score of 93, handicap 10, and F. J. Jeune was second with 93 from scratch. C. Lloyd took third place from E. Sodersen with a gross score of 93. Detailed scores are as follows, both shoots being at the 300yds. range.— G. Holmes, 41, 42, (hdep. 10), total 93; F. J. Jeune, 47, 40, (scr.), 93; C.
