Returned soldiers from this district who visited Sydney with the NewZealand Anzac Contingent encountered in the New 'South Wales capital many former residents in the Dominion, including several Gisborne people. One of these was Mr. Wiremu Rangi, at < dfne time well known in Poverty Bay, who *ice 1924 has resided in Sydney. Mr. Rangi took part in the Sydney Anzac Day march with the New Zealanders, and was able to give much valuable guidance to his comrades in connection with the Anzac Day organisation, and also in other directions. Many other former Gisbornites who have made their homes in Sydney SpUght out old friends among the contifigenters, and extended to them the hospitality of their homes.
