MOTOR REGISTRATIONS

NEW SEASON'S PLATES START MADE YESTERDAY A start was made yesterday with the issuing of motor registrations for the 1938-39 period and, although the new plates are not to be attached to motor vehicles until June 1, a request has been made to the public by the postal department that all registrations should be made as soon as possible. When the office was opened yesterday only a few applications were handled and during the day eight new licenses were taken out. It was pointed out this morning that motorists would not suffer the inconvenience of having to wait for long periods to have their papers checked through if they attended to their licenses early this month. The office was in the postmaster's office and would be moved to the larger office at about the middle of the month so that the final rush could be handled with greater ease.
