WAIROA SHOOTING SEASON RFFECT OF THE FLOOD (Special to the Herald.) WAIROA, this day. Duck-shooters in Wairoa and the surrounding districts did not enjoy tie best of sport for the opening ol the season this week, as the whole countryside was practically flooded. All of the country which is the h?unt of the duck was covered with water and, consequently, birds were not confined to the lakes as in other seasons, the result being that the average bag was exceedingly small. There was no lake in particular in the district that enjoyed limit bags.
