MOTHERS' DAY
TIME OF REMEMBRANCE GRATITUDE OF THE FAMILY In the hurry and rush of everyday life the mother of a family is inclined to be taken very much for granted. All that she does is taken as a matter of course—the hours she puts in cooking, sewing, tending sick children, and keeping the home going are just sc much a mother's job that the growin.: family often forgets. The forgetfulness is not deliberate; it is just the forgetfulnes that time and daily acceptance of some pleasant happening create; the taking for granted of somr daily routine which really makes life run happily and worthwhile.
Throughout the British Empire Sunday, May 9, has been set apart a: Mothers' Day, a day of remembrance a day on which the famiLy can show their gratitude in some specific waj for the thousand-and-one things tht mother has done for them.
It is really a happy thought, thi setting aside of a day on which tc remember, mother. There are many things a mother needs; things she ha: denied herself throughout the year sc that the family may have their needs. Mothers' Day is an occasion when the family can club together and show their appreciation of all that has been done for them.
