DOMINION GRADUATES OVERSEAS DRIFT STEMMED (Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. In the introduction to a lengthy report surveying the many-sided activities oi the Scientific and industrial Research Department, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan. Minister in charge, remarks that the drift of New Zealand Universit> graduates to appointments oversea.' has been subject to adverse comment. "It, therefore, is encouraging to observe that the effort to stem the drift k meeting with some success in that the services of a number of New Zealand graduates who had migrated overseas have been secured for the department, and that there are two ex-Rhodes* Scholars on the staff.
"Another pleasing feature is the increasing opportunity which is being given to women graduates to obtain scientific appointments," he added.
