AFFECT ON THE EYES
SWIMMING BATH WATER DOCTOR'S WARNING (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) LONDON. Sept. 1. A suggestion that the eyes of some children are affected by the water in swimming baths is contained in the report of Dr. Malcolm E. Barker, medical officer of health for East 11am. "Several cases of conjunctivitis appeared," he states, "to have some relationship to attendance at the swimming baths, due perhaps to the irritation of the eyes of certain childdren through slight over-chlorination of the water. "At any rate, advice in regard to the washing of the eyes with fresh water and appropriate treatment after the swimming lesson has produced satisfactory results."
