UNION SECRET “TRIAL”
MEMBERS EXPELLED BUS STRIKE AFTERMATH (Reed. July 15, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, July 14. The Transport Workers’ Union, after a secret “trial,” expelled seven members, including Mr. Papworth, who allegedly unofficially assumed the leadership in the early stages of the recent London bus strike. The union also suspended a number of others. It is expected that the busmen’s rank-and-file movement will now collapse. Union members associating with it are warned that they are liable to severe disciplinary action.
