(Herald Correspondent.) The revenue of the Wairoa Hospital Board for the quarter ended June 30 was £3OOO, against an estimate of £3739. The largest item was £953, against an estimate of £7OO. The expenditure for the same period was £3OOO, against an estimate of £328(1. The heaviest item was £I9BB, against Ithe .estimate of £2IOO. The outdoor relief and social services totalled £093, the estimate having been £O2O. Mr. John Tait, Mohaka, lifts week informed the Herald's representative that his recent importation of Kerry Hills sheep—two rams and 10 ewes—were doing well on their new location, without being yet fully acclimatised. The lambing is expected in October.

The’revenue of the Wairoa County Council for the past month totalled £2003, the chief items being:—Rates, £SB; drivers’ licenses, £43; heavy traffic fees, £45; No. 5 refunds, £790; insurance compensation, £2l; and main highways subsidies, £IOB4. Pilkington, the highways traffic inspector, quickly responded to an invitation by the headmaster of the Wairoa District High School, and on Tuesday addressed the pupils on the rules of the road. The children paid great attention to the advice tendered, the inspector’s points being quickly appreciated. Further addresses are to be given, and they should have a good effect. At the Wairoa County Council’s meeting yesterday, the chairman,- Cr. A. G. Nolan, extended a welcome to Cr. D. V. Thomas, Miromiro, who was back after his illness, expressing the hope that he would be agreeable to carry out his work for the county in his best style. Leave of absence was granted to Crs. S. A. Dickie and Ormond. —Mr. M. R. Show, Morere, has been appointed a member of the Wairoa Harbour Board, vice Mr. R. C. Steed, deceased—Mr. E. IT. Glcndining was granted leave of absence at the Power Board’s meeting on Monday.—

Mr. L. Limbrick has left for Waipawa on holiday.—Messrs. K. Coker and S. Gollan, Auckland, are on a holiday visit to Wairoa.
