ALL TRIPS COMPLETED
EAST COAST AIRWAYS QUARTER’S FINE RECORD During the last quarter the service of East Coast Airways, Limited, functioned satisfactorily and of the 338 trips scheduled between Gisborne and Napier all were completed. In the quarter 340 hours 10 minutes were flown and the distance covered was 32,448 miles. The number of passengers carried numbered 989, and freight 14571 b., including 10681 b. of mail. Passenger miles numbered 94,944, and freight ton miles worked out at 62.4.
The report of the company states that Darton Field aerodrome is now in good order, and the surface of the Beacons aerodrome at Napier was all that could be desired, though the absence of hangar facilities was giving the company considerable concern.
