In connection with the special soccer fixture, Napier United v. Gisborne Mercantile, to be played on the Childers Road Reserve on Saturday, it has been arranged that Thistle and Scottish Wandei’ers will meet in a friendly curtain-raiser, commencing at 1.30 p.m. The referee for the cur-tain-raiser will be Mr. C. C. Evans, while the major fixture, which is to commence at 2.45 p.m., will be refereed by Mr. V. Olney.
