A cloudy sky yesterday morning and light rain early in the afternoon warned members of the Poverty Bay Ladies’ Golf Club to equip themselves with rainproof coats and a change of shoes before venturing out on the Awapuni links for the L.G.U. Medal match and first qualifying round for the Oman Cup, but except for a short period these precautions were unnecessary as the weather cleared and conditions for golf were ideal. The winner in the A division was Miss Shirley Ormond with 85—10 —75, while Miss Paddy Burke carried off the honours in the B division with a score of 99 —30 —G 9, reducing her handicap by four. The C grade players held their weekly match in the morning, Mrs. V. S. Caulton being the winner.
