Mr. R. J. Kerridge, managing director of Gisborne Theatres, Limited, returned to Gisborne last evening after an absence of several weeks, during which he undertook a short tour of the Western and Middle-Western States of America.

Passengers by East Coast Airways’ planes between Gisborne and Napier yesterday included Mesdames Gould, S. D. Nathan, and M. Luget; Miss M. Johnston; Messrs. McWhirter, C. Neeve, A. H. Thomas, G. McGhee, F. Gray, and Sir Andrew Russell.

Mr. K. G. Ball, manager of the municipal bus department, Gisborne, was authorised by the Borough Council last night to represent the council at the annual meeting of the Omnibus Proprietors’ Association and a sitting of the Conciliation Council when hearing the drivers’ dispute.
