SAFE BLOWN OPEN
SUM OF £25 TAKEN WAIKATO BULGLARIES (Per Press Association.) HAMILTON, this day. Forcing an entry to the offices of the New Zealand Dairy Company at Frankton last night, thieves removed a safe weighing 2cwt. to the saleyards 400yds. away and blew it open with gelignite, the contents yielding £25. A cash box in the office of the Maoriland Timber Company was also taken, btu only 2s 6d rewarded the trouble of the thieves in this case.
This morning a couple of boxes of detonators were found in a water trough in the saleyards. It is surmised that the bulglaries were the work of experienced thieves.
