NO DIFFICULTY
(Reed. July 13, 3 p.m.) SEATTLE, July 12,
The first messages received by the United States Army Signal Corps from the Soviet flyers indicated that they were 500 miles from the North Pole at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, New Zealand time. They were travelling at the rate of 105 miles an hour and were encountering no difficulties.
