CHURCH BROADCASTS
SUSPENSION OF PERMIT DIRECTOR CRITICISED (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. The stoppage for a time, at least, of the talks given weekly under the auspices of the Presbyterian Church from station IZM was reported to the Auckland presbytery by the Rev. J. A. Allen, convener of the presbytery’s broadcasting committee. Mr. Allan said that when the station was taken over by the Government, the station director told him it would be necessary for him to apply to the Director of Broadcasting in Wellington lor a continuance of the session. The reply he received from the Director of Broadcasting was that his request was under consideration and that he would be communicated with later when a decision was reached. Mr. Allan said it was a very small courtesy and consideration to ask that the programme arranged should be allowed to go on, pending a decision. That seemed a very reasonable request and they could not help feeling that it was refused in a somewhat inconsiderate way.
