UNDER THE ESTIMATES

BOROUGH EXPENDITURE FIRST QUARTER’S REVIEW The Gisborne Borough Council's expenditure on streets, bridges, sanitation, drainage and reserves during the first quarter of the financial year was below what was provided for on the estimates. Water supply and abattoir expenditure was also under the estimates, but for the bus service and the aerodrome the totals spent were slightly above what was provided for. The position is shown in the quarterly statement of accounts submitted to the Borough Council last night by the town clerk, Mr. W. M. Jenkins, whose figures were as follows: — Est. Act. Debit balances of £35(5 in the water supply account and £IOB9 in the bus service account are excluded from the above figures.
