SHOP WORKERS’ AWARD
POSITION OF MANAGERS REQUEST FOR INCLUSION (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. The determination of the workers to include, if possible, the managers and manageresses of departments within the scope of the Dominion shop assistant's’ award, was announced by the workers’ representatives in the Conciliation Council to-day. The employers’ representatives opposed the move, asking for the exclusion from the award of female assistants receiving £3 10s per week or more and male assistants receiving L 6 or more. The council had not agiccd on the workers to be included and their classification when the proceedings were adjourned till to-morrow.
