BADMINTON CLUB DANCE (Herald Correspondent.) The dance arranged by the Motu district Badminton Club, and held in the Motu Hall on Saturday night, was a very bright and successful function. Three tables for flag five-hundred were arranged in the supper-room, and kept non-dancers happily entertained, the winning team being Mesdames W. Carron and R. Mortleman (Matawai), and Messrs. N. and D. Richardson. Miss Ruru supplied the music, and delightful extras were played by Miss Pearce, Matawai, and Mr. G. Dutton. Mr. R. F. Jackson made an efficient M.C. Mrs. P. J. Parker and her son Terry, “Otau,’ Clevedon, arrived on Monday on a visit to Mrs. H. C. Boys, Motu.— Miss Nita Finch, Auckland, is the guest of Mrs. R. F. Jackson, Marumoko. —Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Bridge have returned to Motu from Gisborne. —Mr. and Mrs. A. Neilson, Gisborne, were the week-end visitors of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Reid, Motu—Misses Pam Read and Una Reid are spending the school vacation with their respective parents at Motu.
