SCHEME FOR PALESTINE LORD PEEL’S BROADCAST (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 1.30 p.m. RUGBY, July 9. The report of the Royal Commission on Palestine probably will be debated in both Houses prior to being laid before the Permanent Mandates Commission at Geneva at the end of the month. The indications are that a majority of the members of the House of Commons will support partition as the only practicable solution. Lord Peel, the chairman of the commission, in a broadcast last night, said: "We tried hard to discover remedies within the scope of the mandate, but were forced to the conviction that the mandate itself must bo revised or abandoned, and a new scheme of government set up. Both sides must make sacrifices, but to both great rewards are open.”
