PALESTINE PARTITION ARABS’ EMPHATIC VIEW RULERS ASKED TO ACT JEWS IN AMERICA (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Tress Assn.) (Reed. July 10, 11.50 a.m.) LONDON, July 9. “The partition of' Palestine will be impossible unless Britain uses force.” This was a declaration made at Jerusalem by Abdul Hadi, a member of the Arab committee, with reference to the proposals of the Royal Commission.

“The Arabs will not yield Haifa or Lake Tiberias for any money. It is not a matter of economics but of honour. Would Britain sell Portsmouth to Germany? “We are weak. We have no guns and no gas, but we have the same hearts as Britons.” •

The * Arab committee • has requested the King of Sandi Arabia, the Emir of Trans-Jordanla, and the King of Iraq, in the name of God and religion to intervene against the partition of Palestine.

A message from New York states that Jewish leaders there almost universally condemn the Palestine report. Mr. Samuel Untermeyer called the plan a major disaster.

The Rabbi, Dr. Stephen Wise, said it was the gravest betrayal of a most sacred trust.

Mr. Louis Lipsky said it would satisfy neither Jews nor Arabs. Some spokesmen advised caution against unreserved condemnation and suggested that consideration be given the matter by the Geneva Jewish congress.
