RETURNS TO FOOTBALL

NEPIA ACCEPTS TERMS PLAY IN CHRISTCHURCH (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. George Nepia, the famous All Black and Rugby League fullback, has accepted an offer from the Canterbury Rugby League to play in matches in Christchurch during August. Since his return from England, after playing Rugby league for Streatham-Mitcham and Halifax, Nepia has been working on his farm on the East Coast, and has not played any football. Negotiations were opened towards the end of last month and to-day a letter was received from Nepia saying that he would agree to the terms offered. The New Zealand Rugby League lias cabled the English authorities for Nepia’s clearance, so that he can play in Christchurch and also turn out with the Maori thirteen to meet the Australian tourists in their match at Auckland on August 11.
