JURY’S £lsoo AWARD
INJURY TO RACEHORSE STAY OF PROCEEDINGS (Reed. July 1, 9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, June 30. The hearing of evidence was concluded in the Supreme Court today on the claim by Frank Edgar Russell, owner-trainer of the racehorse Mala, who sought to recover £3OOO damages against the Commissioner of Road Transport and Railways for injuries allegedly suffered by the horse through being struck by a tram on October 3. The jury returned a verdict in favour of Russell, who was awarded £ISOO as damages. A stay of proceedings was granted.
