Twelvei members leave on Sunday morning ir private cars for Palmerston North, tp attend the educational week to bii held there. A debate, “Horses v. Tractors to Farm Use,” will take place at thi next meeting, to be held on August 3.9 The speaker for the evening was Mi/ F. E. Wilson, whose subject wa:' “Reasons why skins and hides should be treated in a practical manner.’ , Many useful points were explained He pointed out that sheep skins 1 should be hung longways on a rail, so ( that the skin would dry as square as\ possible. Powdered dips should not; be used for painting the skins, but a , liquid dip, as it did not stain the skin , for tanning purposes. j At the close of his address Mr. Wil- ■ son mentioned that F. E. Wilson and Sons, Limited, had donated a trophy! valued at £2 2s to the A. and P. Show,. for the young farmer gaining most i points in the skin section. Many questions were answered by Mr. Wil- 11 son. The meeting closed with a vote ’ of thanks to the speaker. tl
