COMPANY PAYMENTS “NEARLY £IOOO A WEEK” Tho amount paid by the Farmers’ Trading Company, Limited, in taxation in tho financial year which closed on March 31 was t-lie subject, of a quostion by a shareholder at the annual meeting at Auckland. In reply the chairman, Mr. A. A. Ross, said the company was paying 7s fid in the pound on its net profit, while land tax had increased by about £I2OO.
“Taxation absorbed about £l7,non in the year, or not far of) .£1001) a week,” said the general-manager, Mr. R. A. Laidlaw.
