CONFIDENCE IN SYSTEM ELECTION OF OFFICERS Tlio report presented at the annual conference of the New Zealand Bank Officers’ Guild in Wellington showed that there was a membership of 3019. being 91 per cent of the staffs of the trading banks. Tlio accumulated funds amounted to £4639 and the investment society membership exceeded 1850. Approximately the same number had enrolled in the group assurance scheme. In the six years of its existence Ihe value of the life insurance policies brought into the group scheme exceeded £1.300.000. The premiums collected had reached £32.600 a year. The report added that 204 bank officers to date had gained tho diploma of banking, and a, large number also had gained passes in the securities course Pleasure was expressed at the fact that one bank had recently instituted a scheme of pensions for women clerks. A resolution was passed recording the guild's loyally to the trading banks and reaffirming its desire to continue co-operation with the banks. The resolution stated that the value of the present banking system bad hern abundantly proved and flic conference believed that, a continuance of that svstem. unimpaired, was necessary for the well-being of tbe Dominion.
