Over 360 factories are being 1 ' The, employees seek a five-day, 40-hour week, and the employers seasonal variations in the working week ranging from 110 to 48 hours in butter factories, and from 38 to 52 hours in cheese, casein, milk powder and condensed milk factories. The employees ask wages ranging from £5 5s to £6 10s for butter and cheese factory assistants. The eniployeis had offered £4 Is to £5 3s 6d. The question of exempting herd testing was referred to the court. 'Pile employees asked for three weeks holiday on full pay. The hearing is proceeding.
