WARNING TO MOTHERS
CHILD’S DEATH IN COT TRAGEDY AT REMUERA COMMENT 'BY CORONER (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. “This case should be a. warning to mothers and all who have charge of infant children,” said the coroner, Mi. F. K. Hunt, in finding at the inquest to-day that the infant son of Mrs.Alary Elizabeth O’Brien, of Rcmuora, died from asphyxiation caused by the inhalation of milk into its lungs. The evidence showed that last Friday- week, about 1.30 o’clock, the mother, while doing her household duties, left the child in its cot with its head on a pillow anil the teat of a feeding bottle in its mouth. On returning three-quarters of an hour later, the mother was alarmed by the appearance of the child. Bhe called ji doctor, avho found Hint dentil imd occurred.
