The members of the Napier and l’ort Ahiirii'i lire brigades shortly will have the present metal helmets replaced hv lighter ones of cork composition. A first consignment of the new helmets will arrive in the near future, and the full number to be obtained will be ordered as funds permit. In addition to the advantage of less weight, the new helmet is a non-couductoi* of electricity.
