LADY DOCTOR'S CAMPAIGN APPEAL MADE TO MEN An appeal to tho nion of New Zealand to unite with women in stamping out tho evil of illegal abortion Was made by Dr. Doris Gordon in an address in Wangauui. It was tho first occasion on which tho doctor had addrossed a largo mixed audience, and she expressed gratilicatiou at iho interest taken by the men in this problem. Dr. Gordon appealed to Eotary Clubs, chaiubor.s of commerce and all responsible men's organisations interested iu keeping up New Zealand's •birthrate to support the women's organisations and the churches in tho fight. Interviewed, Dr. Gordon said sho was' looking lo the men of Auckland to tako a lead in the mattor and others would follow their example. Already she had boon promised the support of influential male citizens in Auckland and wns now waiting for the men's organisations of that city to luke up the cudgels on behulf of the Dominion 's womanhood.
