"During the past year the committee have been enabled to place the financial position of the association on a much sounder basis and hopes that all members will appreciate the fact," stated the president, Mr. R. D. Dymoek, in his annual report. "The existing mortgage on the hall has been paid off. In the past the association has been paving 7J, per cent per annum. The committee has been successful in floating a new loan at 5 per cent per annum for five years. This the committee hopes will be the means of creating support from the Puhu residents generally, financial and otherwise. The finances are now in a very satisfactory position and the committee hopes the ensuing year's work will show good results • "Towards the end of the year the committee entered into a contract with Inland Cinemas for a lease of the hall for a weekly screening of the pictures. This piano is the joint property of the Puha. Hall Association and the Women's institute, to be used for the benefit of all, the piano being free of debt."
